Old Willingdon Book Launch with refreshments

Saturday 23 November 2019 from 12:00 to 15:00

Join us for the launch of the reprinting of the book Old Willingdon. A group of local residents have republished the book written in 1978 by William Vine. It outlines the history of the village and focuses on the two world wars. Copies on sale at this event. The group called the Willingdon Publishers are planning a second volume that covers the period from 1975 till now and are looking for local people who have stories to tell about Willingdon, its residents. If you have any interesting anecdotes, they would love to hear them so please come along.

Christmas Fayre

Saturday 30 November 2019 from 10:00 to 14:00

Join us for some festive fun at our Christmas Fayre all proceeds in aid of Willingdon Community Hub Library. Stock up your Christmas larder with mince pies, jams, mince meat and other goodies at the cake stall. Buy hand made gifts at the crafts stall and try your luck with the raffle and book lucky dip.

Christmas Carol Evening

Thursday 12 December 2019 from 18:00 to 20:00

We will be joining in the Annual Christmas Carol Evening organised by Willingdon & Jevington Parish Council. It starts outside the Parish Office on the Jubilee Gardens. The library will be open and there will be a ‘Sweet Shop’ with Christmas biscuits, sweets, popcorn, teas and coffees. Win a prize by guessing how many sweets in gingerbread house.
