What’s on in July

The Summer Reading Challenge has started for all Primary School children come along and sign up to Read to the Beat ,race through six books over the summer hols and collect great stickers and cards and receive  your Certificate and Medal when you have completed the challenge .Look forward to seeing you all over the summer .

We are hosting a Reading Round in collaboration with the Royal Literary Fund as part of the National Year of Reading ,these are three sessions lead by  local author Umi Sinha like a book club but where Umi will share a piece of writing then we will have a group discussion . The dates 3rd,10th and 24th September 2pm -3.30 sign up at the library for any sessions that you would like to come to.

Our coffee morning is on Saturday 25th July 10-12 come along for  lovely cakes and community catch up .

Keeping our Library open

Willingdon community hub library, visiting the library is free and open to everyone. It is a volunteer-run registered charity based at Coppice Avenue, Willingdon, operated by the local community since March 2019 following its closure by the council.

The Hub is a place for you to work, read, explore, discover and learn in a friendly environment. Local unpaid volunteers will help you access the books, computers, printers . To borrow books  you will need to register as a member, to obtain your membership card please call in to the Library. Local groups hire the facilities out of library hours, for educational and recreational activities, such as book groups, language and craft groups.
